Crow was beginning to feel a little awkward around the other two. He thought they would be fine, but he could feel something no quite right riding between the four of them. His lips curved downward in a frown and he turned to eye Alys. “I see..” He was a little disappointed she didn’t seem care for Toni when he thought he saw a spark of something in Toni’s eyes when she looked at Alys. He shrugged it off, it wasn’t his problem. He looked over at Aiden and Toni and did a little wave, “Found what we needed. Guess we’ll be heading out now.” And despite his words, he felt as if he should stay.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch As Toni began to sharpen her friend's knife, another deep sigh escaped her lips, "I'll be fine, A.R." Though, by the passing second she slumped lower against the pile of rubish, pressing the blade of the knife harder against the sharpener each time she ran it over the dense metal, the motion growing even faster. Following Aiden's brown eyes to the other duo, she spoke, "it's understandable why they are the way the are, but we're all just trying to make it -" Toni was cut off by a sudden pain in her thumb, "shit!" she exclaimed as the blood rushed out of her finger, the cut wasn't too deep, but it was fairly long. The crimson liquid steadily made its way out of her wound. It oozed between the space of her fingers as she covered the wound with her less dominant hand. Pulling her stuffed bag from behind her, "there should be a red bandana in there," she remarked as she placed the bag infront of Aiden.

Alys’ mouth pressed into a thin line. Crow didn’t seem to be thrilled about her answer, and even though she was just being honest she couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty. He’d been kind to her so far, let her tag along... what if she was the one causing the tension in the group and keeping Crow from the others?
Before she could say anything Alys had whipped her head in the direction of Toni’s yelp. She immediately spotted the pocket knife and the blood and winced. And to make it worse Toni was going to just slap a bandana on it without even rinsing it. Alys shook her head and walked up to the pair, dropping down to sit in front of Toni with her legs crossed. “Ouch,” she commented now that she could see the length of the cut. Reaching into her backpack Alys whipped out one of the water bottles she’d just found, uncapping it and holding out her hand expectantly, silently asking for Toni to give her hand over to be rinsed off before Aiden used the bandana to stop the bleeding.
((Plain af because I’m on my phone RIP))

Aiden Reese Aiden gasped at the sight of the blood, " Oh my god, Tone! Okay. Okay, okay, its just your finger-" He was beginning to panic quite a bit when she pushed her bag out in front of him. He listened to her words for a second before he began to frantically rummage through her bag, quickly coming up on the red bandanna. He was so flustered that he didn't even think of cleaning the wound before moving to apply pressure to it. To his surprise, he looked up just as Alys crouched down beside them to come to their rescue. His dark eyes studied the girl in disbelief and shot over to Toni with wide eyes. She had water... and she was going to use it for their sake! A sudden rush of admiration ran through him for Alys, it was unexpectedly nice of her, especially in a world where its every man to himself. He twisted the bandanna in his hands, watching the two girls unblinking. Tags: Azrael Kairos @razza

Crow’s mouth pulled down into a frown as he watched things unfold before him. He walked over and crouched beside Alys. He swung his pack around and dug out some ointment and a proper bandage. Perks of having an ambassador. He handed it over to Alys and turned his attention to Aiden. He reached out his hand for the guy to take, “Hey Aiden, Discribe the sky to me.” He said, looking him in the eyes with his own amber ones.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch
The pain throbbed and radiated throughout Toni's thumb. As Alys approached with the water bottle and held out her hand, Toni relunctantly gave in and eased her hand into Alys'. She hated that she was using her own water bottle and it made Toni feel guilty, though Alys' selflessness was deeply appreciated. Toni wasn't trying to stare at Alys but she kept finding her eyes diverting to the lass that was crouched infront of her. That was until Crow's hand emerged from his pack with bandages, "you don't need to waste it on me," she paused with a frown, she hated the feeling of pity, even if that's not what they felt. "It's only a small cut," another surge of guilt washed over her as Aiden became all fidgity.

ALYS THILDORN
Alys blinked at Toni in silent encouragement, pleased when she felt a hand slip into hers. She was surprised to find herself struggling to look away from the pair of sage green eyes in front of her, the color somewhat familiar if she thought of her own reflection, and yet so different in their more stormy hue. Alys really hated that this was happening - usually she was good about keeping herself in check around pretty girls. Thankfully Crow came to the rescue just in time, Alys' attention forced away as she accepted the medical supplies he handed her. She nodded to him in thanks.
"Shush," Alys chided at Toni's protests, pulling her hand forward so as she began to rinse the wound they wouldn't get soaked. "S'only a small cut, but last thing you need is it to become infected and lose your hand." Alys kept her own hands steady, one pouring the water while using the thumb of the hand that held Toni's to gently sweep away the diluted blood. She took a moment to be grateful that she wasn't born as squeamish as Aiden. When she was pleased with the result, all the dried blood washed away and the bleeding slowed, Alys grabbed the supplies Crow gave her and furrowed her brow. She made quick work of the process, applying the ointment in one smooth sweep with her index finger and getting it bandaged up in no time, releasing Toni's hand with what she hoped was a gentle, reassuring squeeze. Next Alys turned to Aiden, offering the last of the water in the bottle to the easily sickened lad.

Aiden Reese Aiden did a little jump when Crow’s attention fell onto him. He forced himself to tear his eyes away from the sight of the blood and meet the amber gaze held on him. If he wasn’t in a panicked and sickened state, he probably would have asked him why he would need to describe the sky and simply stared at his hand in confusion. But he his mind was failing him at the moment, so he didn’t have a choice by to be compliant. He placed his lightly scarred hand in Crow’s, grateful for the comforting contact, “ The sky..” He trailed his eyes up from his to the empty space above. “ Uh, well its blue… a nice blue..” A strange look crossed his face, it really was nice, it reminded him of the times before the chaos hit. Happier times. His relaxing thoughts quickly calmed him down and gave him a chance to rein in his thoughts, basically grabbing control of himself. He squeezed Crow’s hand, squinting as his eyes neared the bright sun, “ It’s bright, and-“ He stopped when Alys offered him the rest of the remaining water. His dark eyes widened, looking between her and the water like she just offered to give him a million dollars. “ R-Really? Thank you.” He went to cautiously take the water from her when he realized he still had a hold on Crow’s hand. He quickly went to take his hand back, flustering up in embarrassment, “ I’m sorry!” He swiftly took the water from Alys, looking between them all with a sheepish smile, quickly getting overwhelmed at the attention on him. He glanced to Toni through the corner of his eyes to check up on her. Tags: Azrael Kairos @razza

Crow smiled softly as he watched Aiden for a while after he released his hand. He was glad his little diversion seemed to work, one less problem with their group. Satisfied That Aiden no longer needed him, he stood. He adjust his pack on his shoulder and turned to scan their surroundings. He hoped no one or nothing would come sneaking up on them, they really didn’t need that right now.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch
Toni rolled her subdued forest green eyes sarcastically as Alys shushed her requests. The violent red coated the Welch's hands like caramel over an apple, only a brilliant red instead of a soft golden brown. Her eyes watched Alys' thumb intently as it traced the wound, attempting to rid it of its blood. Toni winced occasionally due to the unbearable pressure assumed to be accidentally applied. The blood itself felt no different from wet mud other than the fact that it wasn't. The lukewarm water seemed to relax Toni's demeanor, though her optics still traced her 'friends' thumb. After the reassuring squeeze was delivered, Toni winced once more, a smile following soon after. A silent thanks was exchanged in simple eye contact, though she could feel the warmth quickly rising to her face. Before it was exposed, Toni looked away and down at her hand, grazing the wrapped injury lightly with her thumb. The feeling of the bandage further soothed her jumbled mind. @razza Azrael Cathmor

ALYS THILDORN
Alys only felt guiltier after Aiden's shock, swallowing thickly and nodding as her only answer when he took the water. With Toni now bandaged up and Aiden now calm Alys' hands retreated to her lap, her eyes trained on the other girl stroking her injured hand. She glanced up at Crow as he made to scan the area, and although her first instinct was to let him say something first, something in Alys wanted to make more of a personal effort with the group. Whether it was guilt from keeping the water to herself, worry about preventing Crow from making friends, or something else entirely, she wasn't sure. Alys started by clearing her throat. "So... what now?" Attempting to look more relaxed than she actually was, she leaned backwards with her hands planted on the ground behind her. Alys tilted her head all the way back so she was looking at Crow upside-down. "Have you got all the parts you need?"

Aiden Reese Aiden turned his eyes down to the water in his hand and stared at it, unsure if he should save it for later or down while he could. He’s already gone on without eating much of his rations, perhaps he could just enjoy this small treat. He brought the water to his lips and tilted his head back while he took a sip. He closed his eyes for a moment then finished off what he could, his thirst getting the best of him. He let out a sigh, slumping his shoulders at the clean taste.
Finally, he turned his attention to the others, listening in the conversation. “Right, why are you guys looking for car parts?” He asked, slowly moving onto his knees to reach over and scoop up his knife. He inspected its sharpness before flicking it closed and shoving it into his pocket. Tags: Azrael Kairos @razza

Crow turned back to the group with his brows arched high, surprised to be asked so many questions at once, “Yes, I’ve got the parts. What the parts are for? My ambassador rebuilds and repurposes things. Kind of like an inventor. I’m not obligated to say what he’s working on right now but it’s surely going to help us with radiation.” He smiled, proud of the guy he supported by being a retrieval boy. He looked down at Toni and his smile faded to something dim, he hoped she would be okay.

↣ NICO L. WARD ↢
It hurt.
Even if all he had to his name was a large knife, some lousy rope, and a couple of other relatively light weight junk in his worn down backpack, it felt as though he was carrying rocks that were getting heavier and heavier with each step and with each breath Nico took. Of course this feeling was no stranger to Nico, for he was used to traveling long and far with little to no breaks. But unfortunately for him, these past couple of days haven't exactly been a walk in the park. Rations were depleting and it was virtually impossible to dig up something edible around broken buildings and searching through the outdoor environment was definitely not an option. Not with the way it has been dying and with the way hellish creatures have started appearing without warning. The thought of them left a sour taste in his mouth, especially when he recalled his first meeting with one of the creatures. It wasn't pleasant nor was it painless.
Long story short, Nico was just happy to have survived.
It wasn't much more of a walk before Nico's eyes catch sight of a run down looking fence that wasn't too far ahead.
Nico slowed his pace as he got closer, eventually stopping at the foot of the fence. Glancing up, the man's eyes squinted as he studied it carefully, making sure to take note of whatever possible. It looked to be around twelve feet in height and from this close up, Nico could see that its silver color in the past had now faded to a rusted color. Not that it was a very important detail, but it did tell Nico that the fence has been here for awhile. Nico latched one of his hands onto the fence and, while looking down, gave it a little shake. The fence shook freely. Another sign it has been here for awhile. Or a sign it was successful in withstanding whatever was trying to get to the other side. Nico looked from left to right, making sure his surroundings were clear. It was. So, without wasting another second, Nico planted his right foot on the fence and started climbing. He could have jumped to get him up more quickly but he really did not like the idea of making more noise than he needed to. He may not have seen anything - or anyone - around but that doesn't guarantee anything. That thought alone was enough to make Nico glance around once more. And, once again, nothing interesting. Before he knew it, he was landing on his feet on the other side.
With a soft grunt, Nico rolled his shoulders from underneath his backpack in hopes of alleviating some of his throbbing joints. When that didn't work, Nico took off his ragtag of a backpack and placed it onto the ground before placing his own self onto the ground next to it. Surely, taking a small break wouldn't hurt. If anything did happen, Nico was positive his body would later thank him for the small break.

ALYS THILDORN
Alys picked absentmindedly at a loose strand on her jeans, still leaning backwards while she listened to the chatter from Aiden and Crow. It was weirdly nice to just sit and be around people like this. Back at the mall not many would be willing to hang around her for too long, given her (pretty accurate) reputation of being terrible company. Crow mentioning his ambassador being able to help with the radiation made her perk up a bit, snapping back into the real world only to shrug; she didn't know much about inventing or the science behind why the world had gone to hell. "I don't have a sugar daddy like Crow," Alys teased, "And I don't know the first thing about car parts. I just came along 'cause it seemed better than sitting around and doing nothin'."
After a couple more moments of comfortable silence a new sound made Alys tense up. It was the metallic twang of the dump's chain link border rattling, and like a flash Alys pounced up to her feet and faced the direction of the source. She didn't say a word, listening closely for any other sound, but when she was met with silence Alys decided to break from the group and grab her switchblade, creeping forward. It took her almost no time at all poking around the vision-obstructing piles of scrap to find a person, undoubtedly alive and relaxing near the fence. He seemed to be alone, too, and blissfully unaware that he wasn't the only one around. Alys stepped out from her cover and just stood in his line of sight, waiting for his reaction and prepared to dive back behind the scraps if things went south.
Notes: oof this is so weak but it needed to happen
