Aiden Reese Aiden grinned at Crow’s struggles but turned his head away from him once he was settled. He covered his mouth with his elbow and let out a cough to cover up his chuckle. He dropped the loose fence and dusted his hands off with mild disgust, completely ignoring the fact that they were already stained red from his previous zombie kill. His quickly looked up at Alys’ question, pleasantly surprised to hear her phrase it as if they were an official group together, “I was hoping to find some rations around here. What are you two looking for exactly?” He asked, raising one of his brows in curiosity.

Crow rolled his shoulders as if to roll off the embarrassment. He walked along slowly as his eyes swept the place in, trying to find the best place to begin looking for the parts his ambassador requested. "Mostly car parts." He said simply, squinting at the closest scrap car, looked like a piece of junk. He sighed and eyed Aiden now, "Rations? Good luck man." He said and looked back onward.

ALYS THILDORN
Alys walked over to stand next to Crow, following his line of sight. To be honest everything in this place looked the same to her - like garbage - but by the sigh that came out of her companion told her this scrap car was a particularly useless type. She hadn't planned on wanting to help Crow, but she found it hard to stay neutral now, especially since he was the closest thing she had to a reliable ally in this situation. While she was thinking Aiden spoke up as well. Rations sounded good to her too, but she had gone into this knowing that the chances of finding anything were slim. But perhaps...
"We've got plenty of daylight left to look around. Crow, you can find whatever parts you're looking for, and," she glanced at Aiden, "while we're at it we can try to find where the gangs camped out. They might have left some scraps." Alys looked at Toni as well but didn't wait for anyone to agree, simply ending her ramble with a shrug and tromping off in a random direction. She was going to stick close to Crow, but to keep her hands busy she started picking through some old pipes and sheets of metal.

Aiden ReeseAiden frowned just slightly at Crow’s response, he wasn’t sure what exactly he meant by that. He kicked at the ground as he shrugged it off and turned to Alys to hear her plan. He doubted the gangs would have left rations behind, but it was worth the shot, nothing to lose. He placed his hands on his hips, scanning the scraps laying around with a sigh. He was not looking forward to dumpster diving. “Okie. Dokie. I got this..” He said slowly to himself, cautiously stepping over to a pile of random junk. He nudged some of the stuff aside with his foot, almost scared to touch something he would rather not touch. He didn’t even know what he didn’t want to touch, but he didn’t want to touch it.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch
Toni, too focused on the freckles that littered Alys' face, nearly missed their comment. "Tirehouse maybe?" she suggested, "plus there might be cars in better condition in there, Crow." Toni set off towards one of the many abandoned settlements. Arriving to the closest building, Toni began to pry the rusted door open, a strong decaying odor swiftly flowed from the storage area and Toni turned her head away briefly, "wouldn't go in there, A.R.," she chuckled, remembering how squeamish he was when he had to yank that walker off of her, the awful popping noise that was created when the leg was dislocated and completely torn away from its joint replaying in her mind.

Crow nodded to the girls and hadn’t noticed much of Alys’ keeping close, he was used to people like that. He began following Toni and scrunched his nose up when the smell wafted out. He put a hand to his bag in case he needed his knife. “Please tell me that’s just a corpse..” he whispered and inched a little closer to the door.

ALYS THILDORN
At Toni's suggestion Alys stopped her rummaging, dropping all the useless scrap and following the group to the tire house. When they arrived to the nearest building Toni was quick to try and pry the door open, but Alys hung back, not particularly fond of just busting into places that she didn't know very well. It wasn't until the stench of rotting flesh reached her that she decided to step forward, flipping out her switchblade and coming up beside Toni. She glanced inside the wedged open doorway, and sure enough there was some sort of body laying on the floor. She watched silently for a moment but couldn't be positive that it was actually dead due to a car on some sort of stand blocking half its body from view. With a glance at Toni she crept forward and finally entered the building, creeping around the corner just to stop in her tracks a moment later. The corpse really way a corpse. Or rather, a fraction of one, what with half of it's head and torso gnawed off and it's skull scooped clean of its contents. Not to mention the maggots, flies, and stench; this thing had been dead for a while, the thing that feeded on it probably long gone as well. "Yeah, it's dead," she called out to anyone who stayed outside. "Like actually dead."

Aiden ReeseAiden playfully glared at Toni for laughing at his misery. He shivered, shaking his hands dramatically at the thought of moving along with the crowd. He crept over anyways, just deciding to follow the others, he didn’t want to be left out of the group. However, when he reached the point of smelling the rotten and decayed flesh, he gagged and jumped back all while covering his mouth. “Oh my god!” He hurried over to the side of the building to throw up but could only dry heave from the lack of food he’s been on. He clutched his waist, leaning against the building with a long drawn out groan. “What did I ever do to deserve this?” He squeaked, looking up at the sky, panting slightly.

Crow nodded thankfully to Alys, and moved on forward but not without a glance back at Aiden. He was worried for the guy, must be tough being so delicate in a place like this. He shrugged and moved on inside. His eyes were ever cautious a finding an undead, you never knew with closed in spaces. He moved forward and approached the car. He swung around to the open hood and peered inside and started fiddling with whatever looking for something. He yawned and shook his head, his wild mess of hair bounced around. He hated being so close to the smell of decay, but good pay was waiting on him if he could find the right parts. His amber eyes kept sweeping over to his companions, people who he really had no business being around, but he was grateful they were there.

ALYS THILDORN
Alys was surprised at Aiden’s reaction, her head whipping around and brows raised. Sometimes it was hard to imagine anyone who wasn’t as used to the smell of death as she was - it was a nearly unavoidable, though she supposed uncommon, part of living. With a shrug to herself Alys turned around when Crow began tinkering with the car. She gave the corpse another look now that she knew it was dead, tucking her nose into the collar of her shirt so she could squat down and get closer without having to join Aiden outside. With the free hand that wasn’t protecting her nose she patted the poor man’s pockets, peaked under his jacket, and even slid off his shoes, but there was nothing of use on him. Alys sighed and stood up, wiping her hands on her jeans despite them not getting too dirty and pulling a hairband out of the pocket that didn’t hold her switch blade so she could tame her curls back into a ponytail. Seeing Crow with his unruly hair she almost offered her spare, but instead just smirked to herself and left him to work as she made way to pick around some more.

Aiden ReeseAiden took a moment to himself to regain his composure, brushing a hand through his dark hair and straightening out his jacket. Reluctantly, he wandered out from his little spot with his head down, avoiding eye contact with the others. He didn’t even want to see what their expressions were, the last thing he wanted was to be labeled as a liability. He wandered over to another random pile of junk and sat down silently to rummage through it for some stuff he could likely use in the future. He was sure that he wasn’t going to find any rations in the area, but he assumed he could go without eating for one more day. He wasn’t going to use what he had unless her desperately needed it. He picked at random items, mostly tossing them over his shoulder. They were mostly simply things like broken glass and springs, nothing of use to him. Finally, he looked up at the sky with a low dramatic groan, running his dirty hands down his face.

Crow rummaged on for a while and apparently found what he was looking for, because he grabbed something and yanked, freeing whatever piece he needed. He swung his pack around to place the item inside. He then turned back to Alys and smiled at her change in appearance. “Your hair looks nice tied up.” He moved around her to the door but paused just before filing out. “So what do you think of Toni?” He asked before stepping away outside. He looked over at Aiden and also smiled at him, thinking he was brave for sticking around.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch
Wandering over to Aiden, Toni held out her hand, gesturing for his knife. Just a few moments earlier, she had found a random piece of metal that had been clearly used for sharpening blades and such. She was merely here for Aiden, she was tired of being cooped up in the carnival. Though now, she felt unwanted in the groups' presence. Taking a seat next to her only friend, she let out a sigh, already completely exhausted and drained. She sat with her back up against a heap of scraps, keeping her mouth shut.

ALYS THILDORN
An odd sort of silence had fallen over the group by now, each person keeping to themselves and minding the divide that split them down the middle. Alys felt the sort of uneasy she remembers experiencing years ago when she realized someone was listening to her sing or play her guitar, like she was on display, being watched by Toni and Aiden despite them not looking in her direction. She swallowed thickly and in attempt to get some space walked further into the room. Immediately her eyes registered on a shock of blue plastic, and with a few steps forward Alys could easily make out the crinkled and dirty exterior of three 8 oz water bottles. Her first instinct was to call out to the group, but the words got stuck in her throat. There were four of them, three water bottles. Without another thought Alys bent down and made quick work of shoving all three into her backpack.
She stood up and straightened herself out just in time to see Crow approaching, his compliment shocking her a little. She wasn't used to much attention, let alone the positive kind. "Thanks," she croaked out simply, her hand flying up to touch her hair like she'd forgotten it was there. Figuring Crow was done here she walked with him, suddenly relieved to be outdoors again. It helped her think of how to answer Crow's question. "Toni is..." she hesitated, her voice low so only Crow could hear as her brow furrowed thoughtfully. "I don't like her, but to be fair I don't like most people." Alys huffed an amused breath. "As long as she isn't trying to kill us, it's whatever."

Aiden Reese Aiden glanced up from his rummaging, pausing just as he went to toss aside a rusty wrench. He studied Toni carefully as she went to sit next to him. He tilted his head, appearing genuinely concerned for her, “ Are you okay? I know I’m not one to talk but you are looking rough, girl.” He raised a brow, digging into one of his front jean pockets for his knife. He switched it open with a quick flick of his wrist and handled it over with the handle safely pointed in her direction. He glanced over at the other two in the group, making a face at their distant behavior. He didn’t like it. He would have much rather split from them than join up as a group with the clear tension between certain members. Awkwardly matched groups only led to disputes and disputes tended to lead to death. “ They’re kind of… not rude but you know..” He mumbled, dropping his eyes back down to pile of junk in front of him. He picked up an old toy soldier figure, and pulled his bag around to store it. Tags: Azrael Kairos @razza
