The zombie had one ear missing and both its lips had been bitten off, perhaps that was its death-kiss from the zombie that turned it into one of the undead. One hand had been mangled and its right bicep was chewed away, exposing the white bones beneath. It had been scalped by some failed attempt to slay it and as the emaciated being drew each rattling breath, it made a low growling moan that should've chilled Zia's blood. Perched atop of one of the theme-parks many buildings, the girl had quite the view of what went on around her. Whether it be approaching walkers, people, or her next meal. Zia's rose gold hair contrasted greatly with her leather jacket, which may save her from some of the shallow bites but not the blistering heat. Her hazel eyes scanned the ground twenty feet below; they lie like dolls over the grass, limbs at awkward angles and heads held in such a way that they cannot be sleeping. Being that she had been separated from her friends a few months prior she has only had to look after herself. The young adults head lolled back as she absorbed the morning sun, its rays broke past the mountains to the south and began to engulf the whole area. tags:: / notes::

Zia Selene-Amber Welch
Time flowed like cement. Zia checked her watch for the time. A minute had passed since she last checked an hour ago, or so it seemed. Sitting there with nothing to stare at but a walker below with a busted jaw was excruciatingly dull. That was until the undead beings' attention was peeled away from its original destination. Zia's hazel eyes followed the general direction the dead man's interest formed. Only to see another human-like figure she rolled those eyes the color of milk chocolate edged with a deep forest-green that sometimes seemed to swirl together like moss creeping over rich soil. A bogus claim of life. Doubt then surged through her and suggested she look one more time, only to notice a very-much-so alive dude plastered against a brick wall, attempting to shuffle by the three, no, now four starving biters. In one fluid motion, Zia made her way down the wall, merely by what was left of a ladder and an old gutter pipe. Retrieving her knife from her hind pocket, she approached the walker from behind. Ensuring she made no noise she walked heel to toe, knees slightly bent. Once she was within range she lunged toward the walking corpse, driving the knife right through its temple. At a constant speed, Zia made her way to the abandoned settlement near the stranger.

Aiden Reese
As soon as the undead had turned their attention onto him, Aiden couldn't help but freeze up in utter fear. He was not a confrontational person, with the living or the dead. His dark eyes went wide and he popped up to his feet, his flight reaction taking over. It was not until he had caught sight of an unknown figure climbing gracefully down a roof that he had the real urge to stay behind. It was another living person! He had closed his old rusty pocket knife as soon as his brain had urged him to take off, but now, more than ever, he fought against that fear. He switched out his knife and took off without hesitation towards the closets flesh eating monster. He was fast, and his long legs made it easy for him to move towards his opponent in just a couple strides. With a grunt, he slammed the knife through the eye socket of the zombie. The attack was clumsy but it got the job done, his lack of experience in killing was quite clear in the way he reacted. He desperately gripped onto his knife as the creature gave one final flailing before Aiden used his foot to kick the monster off. Thankfully, it didn't get back up.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch The sour stench of the undead radiated from their emaciated bodies. Toni's attention frayed at the seams and was torn away from the other walkers, her green eyes landing upon a duo leaning up against the abandoned tent. A scarlet liquid had drenched the kids' white shirt, the light had left his eyes as the color from his rosy cheeks vanished as if ice had struck him. His eyes were glossed over with clouds; skin mangled. Alongside him had been a woman’s body, lying limply, her soul departed. A soft sigh escaped Toni mouth before she was dragged back to reality. A small laugh soon emitted from her as the tall man gracelessly took down one of the biters. Due to the ignorant noise that had come from her direction, the walking corpse turned around and headed for her. It's snake-like brown-grey intestines dragged in the dirt as it staggered toward Toni, using only its ears and nose for guidance. Her stomach lurched as she was unready for the sudden attention and she backed up slowly. She then stumbled over the corpse she previously took down, " shit!" she exclaimed. Sitting on the carnival ground, she reached for her trusted knife, waiting for the dead man to draw closer. Prepared to devour its next meal, it fell to its protruding knees and right onto the blade of the knife; seemingly, it took its own life.

Aiden Reese Adien watched in horror as the scene played out before him. His knuckles turned white as he clutched onto his bloody pocket knife. His body shook with fear, for a long moment he was like a deer in the headlight. Even as the decayed creature fell onto the blade, it was not until he had realized that the creature was no longer moving that he slumped his shoulders in relief. “ Are you-“ Big mistake on his part. While he was so busy worrying over a complete stranger getting bitten in front of him, the final zombie took that to its advantage. It stumbled forward on a leg twisted in an unnatural position, and unable to effectively let out a grunt, it gargled at Aiden through its gaping throat. Flinging a hand out, it snatched a hold of the man’s jacket, pulling itself closer in a sloppy attempt to sink its rotten teeth into his hand. Adien let out a cry of panic and flung himself back, swinging his knife around towards the disgusting thing, just hoping it would have caught onto something. The knife only sliced through the monster’s already cut neck, not doing significant damage besides causing the head just barely hang on by some weak muscle.

Toni Selene-Amber Welch In the grip of silent panic, Toni rose to her feet so fast she became dizzy. Headache aside, she rushed towards the stranger, eager to get the disgusting being away from him. She cleared the distance between them in 3 seconds flat. Panic like a cluster bomb exploding in her brain, she reached out towards the walker, yanking it back by its torn clothing. Per usual, she shoved her trailing pointed knife right through its temple. As the remaining life evaporated from the biter, its body became limp and fell back onto Toni. Its heavy mass pinning her to the ground. As its crimson liquid spilled onto her leather jacket she groaned, though a sigh of relief escaped her mouth.

Aiden ReeseAiden gasped, dropping his knife to rush over to her aid, “Are you okay?!” He hovered his hands over the body of rotten flesh with disgust but took a deep breath and grabbed the zombie’s legs to pull it off her. He made a motion of gagging at the stench and turned his head away, closing his eyes for a moment. He gave one last tug only for the broken leg to easily disconnect at the knee from the rest of its body with a loud pop. “Oh my god.” Immediately, his jaw dropped open in another gag and he tossed the leg aside, turning away from them both while covering his mouth.

Toni's eyes connected with the strangers, "I'd be much better if you'd get this walker off of me," she remarked, breathing deeply. Her expression then changed as she saw the repulsive look wash over the dudes face; she could tell that his insides curdled like milk with lemon. She completely disregarded the fact that she was still on the ground and laughed instead, "c'mon tough guy, you've got this!" She cheered from the sideline. "Grab it by the shirt and pull it off," she instructed. "It'll be okay dude."

Aiden Reese “ Its disgusting!” Aiden glanced over his shoulder at her with a whine, dropping his hand from his mouth. He pursed his lips together, gathering up his courage to follow her advice. Having the leg come off the body itself in his hand left a sour taste in his mouth, this was not something he signed up for. He did owe her though... “ Okay, okay.” He turned back the stranger and without any hesitation, he grabbed a hold of the zombie’s torn and soiled shirt, tugging on it with a big grunt. He successfully managed to pull the bugger off, and quickly dropped the corpse as if it held the black plague. He brushed his hands together with a shudder and hopped over in front of the girl to offer his hand out to help her up. “ I am not built for this kind of work.”

Toni Selene-Amber Welch A few soft chuckles emitted from her frame as the dude squirmed and fidgeted as he attempted to relieve her of the heavy mass. With a single brow raised, she observed as the stranger tried to help her up. She studied the hand, it was corded with subdued blue veins. Reluctantly, she took his offer. " I am now fully aware of that," she teased before quirking her brow. " Toni," she briefly introduced. She rubbed the crimson liquid from her knuckles onto jer dark jeans before she held her fist out, waiting for the obvious response. tags:: Cathmor / notes:: dOnT LeAvE hEr hAnGiNg

Aiden ReeseAiden, being the good sport that he is, chuckled at her little tease. Truthfully, he was just grateful to see another living human after scavenging alone for so long. His dark eyes trailed down from her face to her fist with a smirk, amused by the casual greeting. He brushed his own bloody hand against his filthy black jeans, and fist bumped her with a friendly grin, “Aiden. Aiden Reese.” He turned away from her to retrieve his trusty pocket knife that he had abandoned next to the corpse he practically dismantled. He scooped up the weapon, flipped it closed and shoved it away into his jean pockets. “I have to admit it, you’re kind of a life saver.” Tags: Kairos | | Notes: Lowkey almost made him grab her fist and shake it |

Toni Selene-Amber Welch Echoing his name in her head, Toni's eyes scanned the area for any lingering walkers. "Where'd you get the tanto point from?" She asked, referring to the knife. Toni shot a glance down to her terribly scuffed boots, noticing one had come untied. She squated down, this time double-knotting her shoe. Still focused on her boot she began to speak after his remark, "I tend to have that affect on others," she stated sarcastically. tags:: Cathmor / notes:: YOU SHOULD HAVE FGUYGJDF

Adien Reese He glanced down to the pocket where he had put his knife and shrugged his shoulders slowly, “When push comes to shove, dead bodies tend to have some decent loot.” Aiden admitted with a sheepish shrug. He was a scavenger, he took what he could no matter the risk. He scoffed at her response and crossed his arms over his chest, scanning the area warily. He was sick of the place already, “I’m assuming aren’t with a group? Where you headed?” He needed rations, and he needed them soon if he was going to do any more traveling. If there was an excuse to tag along with another person, he was going to take it.
