Cyrus Bradford Asker Cyrus' deep blue orbs glistened with joy and then sorrow, " well, Crackle is very handsome. Do you guys still have that camera?" he asked as he rose to his feet, studying the photo. He noticed the older man, but it was crystal that he was no longer with the mom and daughter. If they were to survive the fallout and the world was to return to its normal state, this period would be very important in regards to their history. The teenager already kept a composition notebook to journal his days, after being alone for so long it's what kept him sane. " I think I saw a few teddies at the front of the store," he remembered the stuffed animals, perhaps the younger girl could find joy in one. Jogging to the front of the gas station, saying in view of the family he searched for one of the plush toys, looking for a dog in particular as he had taken a mental note of the girl's favoritism towards the canines. He frowned slightly when all that he could find was a typical teddy bear. He trailed back to the cashier's desk and placed the toy on the counter. " I could paint you a dog if you'd like?" he offered, as he placed his bag in front of him, rummaging through it for the inky black paint and a brush. Cathmor

Zara & Skye Cross " No, but we’ve been on the hunt for one, isn’t that right?” Zara looked to Skye, managing another smile for her even when her eyes had a gleam of sadness swirled in them. While on the run from a hoard of the dead, Skye unfortunately dropped the camera and they had no choice but to leave it behind. Since then, Zara promised her daughter in finding another one for her to play with but so far they haven’t had that much luck. “ Yeah!” Skye grinned at Zara as she was lifted up and pulled into her mother’s lap. She shoved another handful of food in her mouth hungrily, snuggling in close as her eyes followed the boy. At the mention of teddies, she sat right back up and stared after him, watching him carry one over to the counter. She gasped and turned over to climb out of Zara’s lap, her food momentarily forgotten. Thankfully, Zara managed to snatch up the last of the rations before it would have been wasted to the filthy flooring. “ Skye, careful.” Zara warned gently but it only fell on deaf ears. She stood, taking a couple steps after Skye, watching the both of them cautiously. Skye hurried over to where Cyrus was, and placed her hands on the desk, staring at the teddy with wide eyes. “ You can?” Her eager blue eyes pulled away from the bear up to the boy. It had been a long time since she’s had a shiny new toy, and a puppy stuffed animal was something she would love more than anything. Tags: Kairos

CYRUS BRADFORD ASKER
With a smile present on his face, Cyrus retrieved the few paint colors he had and one of the two brushes, casting a glance up to the girl before he focused on the small canvas that was settled in his lap. Releasing a relaxed sigh, he swept away the leaves and grass that riddled the gas station floor, prepping it for the paints. "What would you like to name him?" he asked curiously, focusing on the paper in front of him as he painted it in a somewhat graceful maneuver. He then fell hypnotized temporarily as his mind directed his hand without, well, him. Odd perhaps, but that's the way it was. His hand moves instinctively as he fell into the trance as if he could see the image crystal clear in his head.
After layers upon layers of paint, a mass blend of the primary colors contrasted with the inky black, the painting was done. He knew he could've done better, but he didn't want to keep the young one waiting.

" Ah..." Skye focused on the canvas in concentration as Cyrus worked. She watched his every move, easily losing her train of thought. She was fascinated with the way his hand moved so graceful, bringing a creature to life on the material. She reached over to snatch up the teddy from the counter, hugging it close to her chest as she impatiently waited for her other gift. She bounced on her heels, stretching her neck to get a better look. The closer he came to finish, the more her mouth began to stretch out into an eager smile. " Paint. His name will be Paint." She announced, appearing very proud for her cleverness. Zara couldn't help but chuckle softly under her breath, taking a step closer to brush Skye's hair back from her face, " That's a lovely name, Skye." She smiled down at her. She then looked up and offered Cyrus a small yet grateful smile, she just knew that Skye's new gifts would become her latest obsession. TAGS: Kairos NOTES: It's all good homie <33

CYRUS BRADFORD ASKER
With brows furrowed, he trailed back to the painting before him to simply add the suggested name. A large smile spread across his face as he was finally finished completely, "we will just have to wait for it to dry," he paused, searching the floor for rocks, the new paper-weights. "What else do you like?" he added as he continued to scan the speckled floor before coming across what he was looking for. "Would you like to paint something as well?" he finally asked, he definitely had the paper to spare, not so sure about the paint but he didn't mind, he could always find more.

" I can do it too?" Skye's expression slowly lit up and she beamed at Cyrus, her shining blue eyes showed nothing but pure excitement at the idea. She hadn’t had the chance to paint before, but that was made it all the more exciting. She hopped in place with a little hum of excitement, clutching her new teddy in a strangling hold. “ Momma, he said I could do it too!” She excitedly announced, tugging on Zara’s shirt, her eyes locked on Paint the Puppy. “ Yes, yes, I know! What do you say?” Zara smiled, leaning down to speak to Skye at her level. She looked from Skye’s eyes to Cyrus’ pointedly. “ Thank you!” Skye squeaked out, quickly handing Zara her teddy so she could hurry over to Cyrus’ side of the counter. She looked between him and his bag with a large grin. TAGS: Kairos

With a smile present on his face, he tore another page from his notebook. He squeezed the bottled acrylics onto the large paint-palette, known as the floor. "I'll be right back," he remarked as he trailed off to the shelves where the stuffed animals resided. Grabbing the brightest colored one, he made his way back to the duo.
He placed the plush in front of the little girl, "it'll be easier if you have something to look at," he paused as he cast a glance to the mom in order to make sure she was still okay with it. "The red and yellow make orange," he said as he pointed to the 2 of the 3 primary colors. The stuffed cat was ginger, but not harsh like a red tabby, it was more like the kind of orange one would see on a beloved old-shirt mixed with heavy cream. He handed off the two paintbrushes and allowed the girl to work.

Skye sat down on the floor and placed her teddy down beside the cat, inspecting the acrylic paint with bouncing excitement. She giggled with pure glee as he passed over his paintbrushes, looking over her mother with wide eyes. With a nod of approval from Zara, she clutched the brushes in her little fists, her expression changing into one of concentration. She dipped her brush into the yellow and went along to paint on the sheet contently, looking up at the kitty then back down to her sheet.Zara watched Skye with a certain gleam in her eyes, it was one of relief and joy. It had been so long since she had last seen her daughter move with such excitement. In the terrible world they lived in, it was the simple things in life that made life worth living. She lifted her gray eyes up to the boy that gave her and Skye that feeling of joy, and finally offered him a small smile. She was grateful for his patience and generosity. It was hard to come across people that that, "Thank you, Cyrus." She said softly, her eyes trailing back to her daughter. "I don't know how long its been since she's had a break like this." She admitted, sighing quietly.TAGS: Kairos
